01 · The basics

What is a startup hub?

A startup hub is a physical location where early-stage companies, their founders and the people who support them work side by side. Unlike a pure coworking space, a startup hub doesn’t stop at desks and Wi-Fi: it brings together what a young business needs to grow – workspace, knowledge, funding, talent and a network – and connects these elements on purpose.

The idea is simple. Entrepreneurs lose a lot of time searching: for an office that grows with the team, for an introduction to investors, for someone who has solved the same hiring or go-to-market problem before. In a startup hub, those answers are often one floor away. Mentors offer coaching in office hours, investors drop by for events, and the founder at the next table has just closed the round you are preparing for.

Startup hubs come in different shapes. Some are run by cities or universities – in Germany often called a Gründerzentrum or technology and founders’ centre – some by corporates, some by investors, incubators or venture studios. The Delta is privately run and built by founders: the campus, the community, the event programme and our own venture studio are designed as one platform.

Startup hub vs. coworking space vs. accelerator vs. incubator

The terms are often used interchangeably, but they describe different models of startup support. The main difference: accelerators and incubators run a program for a limited time, a startup hub is a place you can stay in as your company grows.

02 · The campus

The Delta Campus: a startup hub in Berlin-Neukölln, built by founders

The Delta was born from a simple frustration: too many exceptional founders were failing not because their ideas were bad, but because they didn’t have the right environment around them. So we built one.

Our first campus is in Berlin-Neukölln, one of the city’s most international neighbourhoods: workspace, startup offices, event venues and a rooftop terrace in one building, close to U7 Rathaus Neukölln and U8 Schönleinstraße. What began as a studio and services arm has grown into an ecosystem of campus, services, capital and a community of founders, mentors and investors.

Our vision: to enable the top 1,000 founders in each of Europe’s five biggest startup capitals by 2035.

“By creating an environment where people with significant impact in mind can find the necessary components to make their vision a reality, The Delta aims to grant our founders the licence to dream big, and be recognised as a place where founders can connect with like-minded individuals who share a common vision for addressing global problems.”

03 · What you get

What you get at a startup hub – everything under one roof

Each element on its own is useful. The value of a startup hub comes from how they reinforce each other: the event you attend leads to a coaching session, the mentor makes an investor intro, the round funds three new hires – who need office space that is already in the building.

  • Workspace that grows with your company

Start with a day pass or a coworking membership, move to a dedicated desk, then into a private or custom office for teams of 2 to 40 – without changing address.

    Workspace options
  • A curated community of founders and entrepreneurs

800+ members from 200+ companies in one building. Entrepreneurs who are one or two steps ahead are often the fastest source of answers.

    Membership
  • Coaching, mentors & office hours

Knowledge on demand: in our monthly Office Hours, experienced operators and investors coach you 1:1 on fundraising, product, growth, brand or hiring.

    Upcoming events
  • Founder events & masterclasses

Founder education that sticks: masterclasses, the GTM Series, Applied AI sessions and meetups with people who have done it before.

    Upcoming events
  • Funding: access to capital & our venture studio

Our Venture Studio co-founds companies with up to €200k inception capital. Members meet investors at pitch formats and dinners, and learn how to combine VC with public funding.

    Venture Studio
  • Networking, partners & perks

Credits and discounts on tools, banking, legal and HR services from our partners, plus direct access to the companies and investors in our network.

The startup hub effect

The startup hub effect: why the whole is worth more than its parts

Every founder who joins adds knowledge, contacts and opportunities to the hub – and benefits from everyone who joined before. The more these elements are connected, the shorter the path from question to answer, and from idea to company.

  • Fewer cold intros, more warm ones
  • Less time on admin, more on product and customers
  • Learning from peers instead of repeating their mistakes

04 · Programs & support

From first idea to scale-up: programs and support at every stage

Founders need different support at different stages. A good startup hub doesn’t force your company into one program with a fixed end date – it offers the right format for the stage you are in, and the next step is already there when you need it.

  1. Idea: validate the problem and find a co-founder

Test first assumptions and decide whether to go all in.

Programs: Studio Open Day · Masterclasses · Founders Co-working Day

  2. Pre-seed: build your MVP

Build from a coworking desk, get feedback from mentors and – as a studio company – start with up to €200k inception capital.

Programs: Venture Studio · Office Hours · Applied AI

  3. Seed: raise your round and hire your first team

Raise with intros from the network, hire your first people and move into a dedicated desk area or a small office.

Programs: GTM Series · Funding sessions · Dedicated desk

  4. Scale: grow into your own office

Move into a custom office, host your own events in our spaces and give back as a mentor.

Programs: Private offices · Event spaces · Mentoring

05 · Why Berlin?

Why Berlin? Europe’s leading tech and startup ecosystem

Berlin is Germany’s startup capital and one of the most important locations for founders in Europe. Berlin’s tech and startup ecosystem attracts a large share of the venture capital invested in German startups, and its scene is more international than anywhere else in the country – English is the working language in many teams.

For a young business, the city combines access to talent, investors and customers with costs that are still lower than in London or Paris. That means more runway and more opportunities in the same place.

  • International talent from universities and research

Berlin’s universities, universities of applied sciences and research institutes produce a steady pipeline of engineers, designers and business graduates. Add people moving here from all over the world, and hiring a global team becomes much easier than in most European cities.

  • Investors and companies in Berlin

Many of Germany’s most active VCs and business angels are based in Berlin or invest here regularly, and corporates run innovation units and partnership programs in the city – potential customers, partners and investors within reach.

  • Public funding for founders: EXIST, IBB & Berlin programmes

Next to venture capital, founders in Berlin can apply for non-dilutive funding: federal programmes such as the EXIST start-up grant for university spin-offs, and programmes of Investitionsbank Berlin (IBB) and the State of Berlin. Our events help you combine grants, loans and VC.

  • Quality of life

Culture, green spaces, an international scene and – compared with other European capitals – still moderate living costs. A city people want to move to makes it easier to hire and keep a team.

Berlin vs. Munich, Hamburg and London

Germany has several strong startup locations, and London remains Europe’s biggest market. Which one fits depends on your business – here is how they compare at a glance.
